New 12v Battery Chargers For Your Car

Saturday, November 21st, 2009

The 12V battery chargers on the market today come packed with plenty of safety features, thanks to ubiquitous microprocessor technology. Overcharging your battery can sometimes cause what is known as a hydrogen explosion; microprocessor technology usually protects against overcharging. If you feel that playing it cool and all unconcerned is more important than checking off all your safety precautions, it is possible you could get to work wearing say a loose bracelet that could short something out; or perhaps you could plug in your battery charger before you connect the battery to it.

Effective Search Techniques for Online Car Loans

The Internet has become the financial hub of the known Universe. You can find anything you want online, from stock trading, to mortgage loan applications. With the uprising in new websites available, it is inevitable that over-all quality will decrease. It has become very difficult to determine which websites are actually helpful and which ones are simply spam. One way to help reduce the amount of bad, irrelevant results is to educate your self on effective keyword search techniques.

As an example, I will demonstrate effective techniques for searching for an auto loan on any popular search engine. For the most part, the top search engines are Google, Yahoo, and MSN. Search techniques for each are basically identical. There is no reason to change the way you look for things on each individual engine.

Watch Chinese Made SUV’s Coming To America

Thursday, May 3rd, 2007

While the Japanese have long held control of the Asian sector of the foreign car market in America, and Korean-made Kias and Hyundais have climbed the hard ladder of respectability to deliver impressive 2007 models, Americans should brace themselves for the introduction of Chinese-made SUV vehicles in the U.S. (potentially by the end of this year).

Hybrid Car Comparison

Tuesday, December 26th, 2006

An article about Hybrid Car Comparison:

“Hybrid” autos are given this name because they are hybrid blends, of both the gasoline and electric cars. The hybrid retains qualities of both its parents. Those who take the time to do a hybrid car comparison will learn that hybrids use both gas and electric engines. The electric motor performs well in areas that the gas engine is inefficient. On the other hand, the gas engine picks up where the electric motor is weak. Because the electric motor does part of the work but uses no gas, the hybrid car is much more fuel efficient.

The First Jeeps

Tuesday, December 19th, 2006

The origins of the vehicle: the first jeeps

The first jeep prototype (the Bantam BRC) was built for the Department of the Army by American Bantam, followed by two other competing prototypes produced by Ford (not Chrysler) and Willys-Overland. The American Bantam Car Company actually built and designed the vehicle that first met the Army’s criteria, but the Army felt that the company was too small to supply the number needed and it allowed Willys and Ford to make second attempts on their designs after seeing Bantam’s vehicle in action. Some people believe that Ford and Willys also had access to Bantam’s technical paperwork.

The origin of the term “Jeep”

Sunday, November 19th, 2006

The origin of the term “jeep”

There are many stories about where the name “jeep” came from. These, although they make for interesting and memorable stories, are not quite accurate.

* Probably the most popular notion has it that the vehicle bore the designation “GP” (for “General Purpose”), which was phonetically slurred into the word jeep. R. Lee Ermey, on his television series Mail Call, disputes this, saying that the vehicle was designed for specific duties, was never referred to as “General Purpose,” and that the name may have been derived from Ford’s nomenclature referring to the vehicle as GP (G for government-use, and P to designate its 80-inch-wheelbase). “General purpose” does appear in connection with the vehicle in the WW2 TM 9-803 manual, which describes the vehicle as “… a general purpose, personnel, or cargo carrier especially adaptable for reconnaissance or command, and designated as ¼-ton 4×4 Truck”, and the vehicle is designated a “GP” in TM 9-2800, Standard Military Motor Vehicles, 1 September 1943, but whether the average jeep-driving GI would have been familiar with either of these manuals, is open to debate.

1500 Watt 110 Volt DC Kohler ACR Engines Quality

Sunday, November 19th, 2006

In 1939, work began on the development of liquid-cooled diesel engines. These engines ranged from single cylinder 5 hp to four-cylinder 20 hp. In 1948, Kohler started focusing on manufacturing engines by opening a small engine factory and introducing the first “stand alone” Kohler engines for industrial applications. Just three years later, Kohler’s K90 cast iron single cylinder air-cooled engine went into production. Throughout the fifties, Kohler added to its K-Series engines and in 1959 introduced the first of the four “interchangeable” models with common mounting foot pattern and crank height. In 1965, the company introduced Automatic Compression Release (ACR) for use on Kohler engines. This new technology allowed for more effortless recoil starts. That is the company history of Kohler but there is much more to their products than the history.
