Windshield Glass Repair

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

Repairing a damaged windshield saves time & money by preventing the need for replacement. Rocks and other road debris often fly up from the road and damage a windshield and if this damage is small the windshield can be repaired. Repairing or replacing your windshield should be done by a certified expert.

But fixing your windshield may not be as costly as you think. Glass coverage is included as one part of comprehensive, but (unlike the other items covered under comprehensive) typically comes without a deductible. This means that, if your car windshield is damaged or destroyed and needs to be replaced; your auto insurance company will pay the entire bill. I Want Cheap Car Insurance Now!

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

Reader Question: I can get a cheaper car insurance rate via the internet and some of the lesser know insurance carriers, but should I?

Sure, some of those “lesser known” carriers are really well run companies that have been around a long time and will probably be around for a much longer time. You can also eliminate current covereages in your current policy to help cut your premium costs.

Understand, however, that if you eliminate the coverages, you’ll have to foot the repair bill if you get in an accident that’s your fault, or if the car is totalled or stolen. Understand that many of the big name companies such as Geico and Esurance do not have a network of agents and you are on your own when it comes time to deal with any claims you may have. Other companies such as State Farm and Allstate have a network of agents. We offer Cheap SR22 auto insurance online and cheap DUI insurance rates

Is Your Insurance Company Robbing You?

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

Is your insurance company making huge profits…while cutting back on claims they pay out?

Insurance companies do try to recover their losses whenever they feel they have just cause. Because they have a responsibility to stockholders to be profitable, and so they make sure they don’t pay more than they should according to the policies they issue and the circumstances of an accident. Insurance does just that.

You pay the insurance company a payment called a premium and the insurance company spreads it’s risk among many client. Insurance companies have been trying to fill the gap for conventional personal advisors to make up lost profits elsewhere. With advancement in technology and the distance between service provider and market growing larger, personal advisors have almost disappeared from the scene. Police Autos Auction

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008
Is it worth looking at autos at police autos auctions?

The short answer is yes and unlike my son’s logic it doesn’t mean that you’ll end up with a second hand police auto! Lovely to be so literal isn’t it?

No, instead you’re likely to end up with a real bargain.

The thing is that police departments nationwide are seizing thousands of vehicles every month, for 1 reason or another.

Once they’re seized, they have to be kept somewhere. This storage for an ever-growing number of autos works out very expensive. This is where the seizure and surplus law kicks in, meaning that these cars can be legally sold off at auction.

This is where you and everyone else who gets to find out about police autos auctions can benefit.

On average these cars are only 2-3 years old, very few are over 5 years old. They are very well-maintained mainly because; well, let’s face it, most have been seized because the payments on them haven’t been kept up.

So you can come along and get a very cheap second hand auto.

On occasion, you can even pick up an auto up to 90% off its original value.

The next thing you’ll be wanting to know is where can I find these auctions?

Well, there’s even better news for you on that front too.

These auctions can be discovered on the Internet. On some you can even bid online too.

All you need to do is find a good online auction site.

The best sites contain updated auctions nationwide and give immediate access to over 3000 auctions.

Just have an idea what make you’re after before you start searching, otherwise you could be looking all day!

After you’ve sorted out the auto to go for, why not make a note of the site as most also offer auctions for vans, trucks, dirt bikes & even buses & aircraft aswell!

Be a pal & pass on the news that police autos auctions exist, everyone will be glad you did.

What are Headers for Your Car?

Monday, April 28th, 2008

OK. I feel like an idiot but I have no idea what headers are. My boyfriend is in the process of tweaking out his engine and keeps saying he plans on putting some  “bitchin’” headers on his truck. I’ve managed to figure out they’re part of the engine and not something you attach to the truck. But his constant bragging and talk about headers this and headers that has peaked my interest. I’m searching online for all the details about these strange things called “headers”. I have been able to discover now what they are and also different types of brands. Just to show off to the web community, I now know that headers are a part you bolt on to your engine that helps improve performance by pushing exhaust gases out of the cylinders. If I’m wrong, please tell me because I’m running with this description. I’ve also learned that headers are made by manufacturers like Borla, BBK, and GReddy (with a capital GR).
So as you can tell, I’m starting to learn all about headers. My next quest is to figure out which brand is best. Now you may ask why I’m totally obsessing over these headers. Well, I’m a bit competitive so I at least want to know and understand everything he’s talking about. So if anyone can help me figure out which headers are better for trucks (he has some old Chevy from the 70s), please let me know. You’d be the best.

Word of Advice on Installing Headers

Monday, April 28th, 2008

I recently installed some JBA headers on my old F150 and had some trouble installing them. There was nothing wrong with the JBA headers I purchased; there was a problem with my truck. I just want to get the word out on what to be careful of when installing headers. It turns out the original hardware on my truck was completely rusted out. It literally took me a few days to get the old headers off. If you’re a newbie when it comes to installing new headers, this is something you need to be aware of. I’ve been working on trucks for years so I had a few tricks to getting them off; but if I hadn’t had years of experience, I would have had to have someone install them for me. Just some words of advice. It might be better to have someone install them for you.

DUI Auto Insurance

Monday, April 28th, 2008

Are you paying too much for DUI auto insurance? SR22 insurance is expensive and there’s no reason to pay it if you can find a way to just not drive for two years until you can get your license back the regular way. Sr22 insurance is the only way to get your drivers license reinstated. Cheap auto insurance quotes are the holy grail of insurance shoppers.

Car insurance companies can afford to spend hours wheeling and dealing to get you to pay an inflated price for automobile insurance. Internet quotes for car insurance may be the solution. The advent of Internet based Insurance quote shopping sites now requires the auto insurance industry to become more competitive just like other businesses. Cheap SR22 insurance is actually not available. The very term SR22 insurance means you are considered ‘high risk’ in the auto insurance industry. Do I Need Car Insurance?

Friday, April 25th, 2008

Car insurance is a requirement for drivers. The cost of it, however, is a choice. Car insurance is what safeguards you against loss due to traffic accidents, thefts or other reasons. Taking out car insurance is very important as insurance is what secures you from economic loss or damages. Car insurance is essentially insurance that covers you, your passengers, and your car in case of an accident. Most states require that car owners carry liability coverage in their car insurance policy.

Coverage U (Uninsured Motorists Insurance) pays compensation for bodily injury, sickness, or death that the person insured is legally entitled to recover from the owner of an uninsured auto. Coverage G pays for loss of the car that results from a collision with another object or a car. Coverage levels can vary for each auto insurance policy. Looking for a cheap car insurance company?

Are Government Car Auctions For Real?

Friday, April 25th, 2008

Reader Question Are these “police car auctions” I see advertised on the Internet for real? I mean can you really get a “cheap” sports car from one of them?

Don, Tulsa OK

Local police and federal law agencies seize automobiles from drug dealers and criminals. In fact so many vehicles are seized that it is impossible to store them for any length of time so the easiest way to deal with this oversupply is to auction them off to the lowest bidder.

Local car auctions have people from that locality and its surrounding coming to buy the cars. These auctions helps you the best bargain for cars. Local car auction venues are usually smaller than the national ones. They are also restricted to the area where they are held. Free Online Government Car Auctions

Do I Really Need To Buy an Extended Auto Warranty Contract?

Thursday, April 24th, 2008

Reader Question Call me crazy but aren’t today’s cars more reliable and dont really need an extended car maintenance contract anyway? I mean, I get the feeling the warranty companies are the only ones benefiting here, am I correct?
Dawn,

Lawton, OK

Car maintenance is a quite often discussed topic and you have heard your local automotive technician rattle on and on about its importance. It might have gone heedless anyway. Car dealers often resell the extended warranty to you at 2 to 3 times what they paid.

Car Dealers normally do not show you the contract in advance, so you have no idea what you are signing up to other than their verbal promise, or marketing slick sheets which are not contracts, and they leave out details that bite you in the butt later.

Cars that are three years old are likely to have as many as twice the mechanical problems as cars that are just a year old (things only go down hill from there, even if you maintain your vehicle faithfully). The physics involved in automotive transportation place incredible demands on the car components. Save tons of money on car insurance rates online quotes

2008 Ford Mustang Options

Added to the rear suspension is a three-linked system which controls the vertical and lateral movements of the axle. All model years of the current Mustang retain a live axle rear suspension providing the benefits of reduced cost and weight over a heavier, more expensive and complicated independent rear suspension, at the expense of handling.

Additionally, positive road noise reduction helps the driver stay in tune with the renowned exhaust note every Ford Mustang produces. This product, as well as others in the CDC portfolio, adheres to all safety regulations required for motor vehicles.

Additionally, a special 40th Anniversary Edition package is available that includes Arizona Beige Metallic performance stripes, upgraded wheels with Arizona Beige Metallic accents, brushed aluminum interior accents with metallic gray painted trim and special embroidered floor mats. Other changes include noise reduction efforts, a retuned suspension and minor engine refinements. Need help with extended auto warranty contracts or vehicle service contracts?

Should I Lease a Car From The Ford Dealership?

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

Reader Question: Should I consider leasing a new car from my local Ford dealership, or is there a better avenue for auto leasing than the dealer?

Don,

Houma, LA

Hey there Don, most new car dealerships use the financing that is best for their profits, i.e. By not using dealer financing, we can save you money on your next lease.

Car dealers are in business to sell their inventory, and of course make a profit. Whether they do this through an auto loan or through a lease their job is to get you into a vehicle. Dealers will always pay below market value for a used vehicle (as they will only be able to sell it at market value).

It is very common to have a higher balance remaining on the vehicle loan than the dealer is willing to pay for the vehicle. I would shop around at multiple Ford dealerships in your area and get quotes online, I bet you will find a different percentage rate and term option from each lender you talk to. Need help finding a cheap lease car deal? Want to know what is an auto lease anyway?

What is a Cold Air Intake?

Friday, April 11th, 2008

Has anyone heard of a cold air intake? I’ve been told it’s a great way to get more power for your car. Something about colder air providing a more powerful combustion in the engine which results in more horsepower. In any regard, my son is rebuilding a 1968 Chevy Camaro and is looking into getting a cold air intake. Do they make one for older Camaros? I did find on place online that sells K&N cold air intakes and I think they have one for older Camaros, but I don’t want to buy one and end up having it be the wrong one. Does anyone know anything about them? Is there a specific brand I should be looking for? And more importantly, how easy are they to install on a 1968 Chevy Camaro?

Driving the Speed Limit Saves Gas? (and your nerves!)

Friday, April 11th, 2008

Can you really save money by driving the speed limit?

It seems that you can save as much as 15¢ per gallon by just slowing down and driving at a steady speed.

Plus, you don’t have the added headache of jockeying for position along with all the speed freaks in the fast lanes.

It can save you a gallon on the average tank of gas.  At $3.00+ per gallon, that could add up over time.
