Truck Tarps Installation Guidelines
Thursday, February 25th, 2010Open the clip and enclose the rope. Make sure the rope is taught when clipped. Installing snap clips on truck tarps is that simple! The first snap clip is typically factory installed 5’-6” from the pullrod on all truck tarps. Weave the second clip through the main pullrope where the ends of the bungee cords meet the main pullrope on the truck tarps body.
Then place the middle truck tarps hooks equal distances from the grommet. These hooks should be placed at the same height as the second hook on your truck tarps surface. Next the bungee cord has to be stretched to reach the last truck tarps hook. The next step to installing truck tarps is to position the first hook 6” (15.24cm) down and 12” (30.48cm) forward (toward the cab) from the first grommet. Next position the 2nd hook straight down from the truck tarps 1st grommet. This hook should be reached from ground.
Start with hook closest to the cab. Each tie down hook of your truck tarps must be positioned so that the tie down rope can be reached from the ground. The rope will have no slack. To ensure proper hook placement on the truck tarps, first duct tape the rope to the box in place of the tie down hooks. Make sure that the tie down hooks on your truck tarps are level with one another.
Next, position the last hook (closest to the truck tarps tailgate) below the last grommet at the same height as the others and weld all of the hooks into place. By following these steps you should have your truck tarps hooks securely in place. Snap clip installation is also vitally important when putting together varying truck tarps. For this process, flip the rope back on top of the truck tarps surface, making sure to hold the bungee at all times.
If needed, use the hook to pull the braided rope and flap over the side of the box. The first step is to make sure that the locations of your truck tarps tie down hooks are in the right place. The number of tie down hooks for truck tarps vary depending on the length of your truck tarp. Flip the braided rope over the corner so that the flaps and tie down ropes hang over each side of the box.
